Vancouver police women's squad arrest guy

Although some of the female cops encountered while sometimes filming police incidents have been just as corrupt and/or incompetent as their male counterparts it is nice to see women making their mark in professions that were at one time considered male dominant. The first women that chose to enter that workplace as well as others that had an over representation of men likely confronted a hostile environment but they persevered through it and paved the way for others.

Most if not all police departments probably still are male dominated to some extent but with more and more women seemingly joining it's possible the demographics could shift in favor of women.

My Mother grew up in Fiji in a huge family with double digit siblings and at the time there was a unjust predominant mentality among many people mostly men where women and their contributions were devalued and opportunities such as education and getting a job if they chose to pursue those endeavors were usually discouraged, in some cases vehemently so and pursuing those after being discouraged to do so could have jeopardized their safety and lead to punitive measures. This misguided mentality seems to have since evolved in most of Fiji but there likely are some places that still subscribe to that thought process.

As prevalent and widespread as the ideology that women should be submissive and defer their own wants and needs was at the time my Dad overcame that mindset and when him and my Mom got married their marriage was the opposite of most marriages in that they considered each other equal partners that supported each other.

Women were encouraged to cook, clean, raise kids if they had any, etc, their among other things wants and ambitions were usually considered of little importance. Many grown women were treated like children requiring permission to leave the house or requiring a male to accompany them if they wanted to go anywhere.

Having grown up in that environment where men made most of the decisions usually without consulting women who either conformed or were likely given punitive treatment my Mother and her sisters were discouraged from seeking and engaging in opportunites such as pursuing education and getting a job because they were told by some of the males in the family that they should focus on cooking, cleaning, and so forth so she's proud to see as am I the enormous strides that have been achieved in the quest for equality though it is an ongoing work in progress.

At about 00:01 - Arrival at the scene of the arrest, the guy has already been handcuffed and is being held captive by a female copper, if not for the handcuffs someone might think they were star crossed lovers out for a stroll with arms interlocked, there is another cop standing by the police vehicle and one that seems to be interviewing the unhoused guy that is usually sitting in that spot who probably witnessed the alleged unlawful act that took place.

The possible alleged reasons behind the arrest is likely that he was involved in an altercation or it could have been theft but in most theft cases they don't take the person to the slammer releasing them if they agree to the court appearance documentation.

At about 00:09 - There appears to be a lad wearing a skirt or kilt with what look to be knee high socks and there are a couple of other people seemingly male and female wearing the same outfit, they are probably part of some band, private school, etc. It seems almost inevitable that in some circles dudes wearing skirts will probably start trending and become a thing.

At about 00:19 - Handcuffed guy looks to have a possible laceration on his hand.

At about 00:49 - A paddy wagon approaches the scene.

At about 00:57 - One of the signs on the hot dog stand claims it's the best hotdog in Vancouver which is likely false advertising. If any snooty hot dog aficionados residing in Vancouver watch this who do you think has the best hotdogs in Vancouver?

At about 1:07 - As the guy is being escorted to the wagon he calls out to the homeless guy referring to him as uncle which he might be and tells him to watch his bag.

At about 1:25 - The 3 lady cops get ready to search the guy before placing him in the wagon. This scene seems like the intro of a dirty movie. The dude has probably had fantasies about a similar scenario playing out under different circumstances. He likely wanted this search to go on for hours.

At about 2:50 - A cop still seems to be getting information from the homeless guy about what if anything he saw of the incident.
