Ananda Marga Flag Hoisting Day – 8th August 2025

At Gandhavpur, Pathargama, Godda, Margiis gathered to celebrate the historic day when, on 8th August 1964, Shrii Shrii Anandamurti Ji first hoisted the Ananda Marga flag with His divine hands.

This year’s celebration included the ceremonial flag hoisting at 11:05 AM and a 24-hour Akhanda Kiirtan, filling the atmosphere with devotion and unity.

त्याग का प्रतीक है गेरुआ रंग | इसीलिये गेरुआ रङ्ग के झंडे की हम जय करते हैं | सब रङ्गों के झंडों की जय नहीं होती, , गेरुआ रङ्ग के झंडे की जय होती है अर्थात त्याग की जय होती है |

The symbol of renunciation is the saffron color. This is why we salute the flag of saffron color, because it represents the victory of renunciation. Not all flags are saluted, only the flag of saffron color is saluted, meaning the victory of renunciation is celebrated.

Within our flags, there is a swastika. What is the color of the swastika? The color of the swastika is white. White signifies purity, meaning through renunciation, we establish purity in society. So, where there is renunciation and purity, there will definitely be victory, whether we desire it or not.
