[Public Lecture 2016] Presented by His Excellency Mr Luis Jose Menendez-Castro, Ambassador of the Republic of El Salvador and Mr Gerardo Diaz, The Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front (FMLN)
This lecture looks at El Salvador from the perspective of a new government led by President Salvador Sanchez Ceren, a school teacher and former guerrilla commander. This lecture will present the historic transformation that El Salvador is undergoing and explain how these major evolutions are being pursued in the face of the ongoing challenges facing the country.
Speakers:
His Excellency Mr Luis Jose Menendez-Castro, newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of El Salvador. Formally, Ambassador of El Salvador to the Organisation of American States (OAS) Washington USA.
Gerardo Diaz, member of the "El Salvador Support FMLN" in Australia, he was General Secretary of FENASTRAS (National Federation of Salvadorian Workers) during the 1980's civil war in El Salvador.
