On this type of Anti-Theft system 03 Chevy Impala is in two sections one is the (VTD) vehicle Theft Deterrent and the other is the (CTD) Content Theft Deterrent (when armed) is designed to deter vehicle content theft by pulsing the horns and exterior lamps for approximately 2 minutes in the other hand the (VTD) when is armed prevent the vehicle from Drive away the car will not Crank and if you start the car from the crank relay it will start and then stall. Note: resistors use in Passkey III are ranging from 0.5 kilohms to 13.6 kilohms however VTD & CTD is any problems have to be troubleshoot separately and CTD does not effect engine starting.
