In this Learning Collaborative session, participants will learn how to assess and document CHW qualifications, understand DHCS training requirements, and develop a sustainable training plan aligned with the C3 Core Competencies. Using practical tools—including
a training crosswalk spreadsheet and guiding principles from the C3 Council—LGBTQ TA Center grantees will identify current training gaps in their CHW/P/R workforce and strategize local partnerships and funding approaches to strengthen CHW/P/R capacity. This
session is designed for CHW/P/R employers seeking to build workforce sustainability while meeting state compliance requirements and supporting professional development.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
Describe California’s CHW core competencies and DHCS training requirements for the CHW workforce
Utilize customizable templates to track CHW training progress, competency level, and identify key gaps
Identify practical strategies for strengthening or developing sustainable CHW training opportunities
