so yeah, I wouldn't be myself (aka basic bish) if I didn't make a Elena crossover with new guy.
Forgive me for the mistakes, I made it all today (im shook, it usually takes ages).

I think it's simple... They find each other attractive, start dating. But well, something is always there, not letting them to fully engage in this relationship.
Archie is having a angsty time in his life, typicall teenage existentional crisis. He lashes out very easly and Elena is really concerned. She tries to make him understand that he is a good guy and should at least try to behave himself. But well, he doesn't want anyone to tell him how to deal with his issues and he ignores her, making a distance between them even bigger.
Finally Elena catches him with another women. Even if she knew that their relationship was fragile, barely existing at this point, she was devastated. In the end she decides to leave - either for a longer vacation or even forever. Of course Archie decides to fix things up in the exact moment she left the town.
