They’re several hours away from home — often working in remote spots without cell service — hiking up steep grades, and seeing some of the most spectacular views on the coast. The work on spikes, where Corpsmembers camp closer to project sites for eight straight days, means intense days on the grade and interesting tasks back at camp.
