Ancient days, river is the only mode of transportation. No roads nor cars nor railway and bridges. So this Chang Jiang Cable way serves the cheap and easy way to cross the Yangtze River for the local folks. Now it has become a tourist attraction.
Great view of Yangtze River below, and the apartments / high rise buildings. These high-rise buidings are connected to each other at different floors, eg. 3rd floor of building A is connected to 7 floor of building B, due to the uneven landscape of the ground. Interesting! Very convenient for the residents to move about.
Interesting way to experience ancient local travel, and mostly locals are still using it too.....
