Under the Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (DRIP) and the Kudimaramathu scheme, major dams like Mettur, Bhavanisagar, Amaravathi, Aliyar, Vaigai, and dozens more are being strengthened with modern safety upgrades, spillway redesigns, desilting, and scientific monitoring. From Athikadavu–Avinashi recharge works to urban lake restoration in Chennai and Madurai, these projects ensure reliable irrigation, groundwater recharge, and flood control for millions of people. For Tamilians, water is not just a resource—it is our civilisation’s lifeline. Renovating our dams means protecting farmers, reviving our ancient Kudimaramathu traditions, and building pride in Tamil heritage and resilience. This is not just infrastructure—it is the soul of Tamil Nadu’s future.
