I would actually lose my mind too. You borrow your fiancé’s jacket, reach into the pocket, and find a random handwritten note with a phone number. That is not a cute little surprise. That is a full body stress response.

In this story, a woman finds the note after her fiancé came home late from being out with friends, and of course they already argued about it. When she confronts him, he insists it’s nothing, claims he found it under his coffee cup the night before, and says he never called the number. His call history backs that up, but then the obvious question is why the note is still in his pocket.

So is this harmless and he’s just clueless, or is it one of those situations where the “technically I didn’t call” detail is doing a lot of heavy lifting. If you found this, would you believe him, or would you start asking follow-up questions immediately.
