Try this simple Berry Crumble recipe — perfect for cosy afternoons and slow days in the countryside🍓
Ingredients:
• 500–600 g mixed fruit, fresh or defrosted and drained (e.g. apples, pears, plums, strawberries, currants, blueberries)
• 80 g cold butter, cut into small cubes (plus extra for greasing the dish)
• 80 g sugar (white, brown, or coconut)
• 40 g rolled oats
• 50 g mixed nuts (e.g. hazelnuts, walnuts, almonds)
• 40 g plain flour (or your preferred type)
• 1 tsp vanilla sugar (optional)
• ¼ tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
⸻
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
Grease a ovenproof dish with butter.
Chop the fruit into small pieces if needed, and spread it evenly across the bottom of the dish. Set aside.
2. Make the crumble topping:
In a blender, pulse the oats and nuts until finely chopped.
Transfer to a mixing bowl and add the flour, sugar, vanilla sugar (if using), and cinnamon.
Add the cold, cubed butter and rub it into the dry ingredients with your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
3. Assemble and bake:
Evenly sprinkle the crumble mixture over the fruit in the baking dish.
Bake for 20–25 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
If this film brought you a moment of calm, there’s more waiting for you…🌿
