The team
The Kidmedia team has been creating educational software and learning games since 2005 in Greece. We create apps that we use first in our classroom, test their effectiveness, and then publish them on our website.
The group was created by special education teachers Pagratis Pavlidis and Christos Bitsis. The special education teacher Ioulia Dimou, the kindergarten teacher, voice and piano teacher Valentini Pavlidou, the musician and 3d artist Georgios Pavlidis and the 3d artist and software developer Konstantinos Bitsis collaborate with the group.
Our Goal
Our main goal is to create quality interactive learning games for children and teaching tools to help educators and parents. We focus on the early stages of learning and make sure all our applications are suitable for children with disabilities.
We consider it unthinkable to have advertisements on a website aimed at children, especially those with special needs. For this reason, we turn to you, educators and parents, asking for your assistance in order to have financial support for our project.
Our most recent work concerns the development of customizable on-line applications that can be used by educators as practice exercises, depending on the level of each student.
On our website kidmedia.net, we will make the necessary changes to all our on-line learning games so that they have a similar if not identical way of interacting with the user. We will also try to use as little verbal communication as possible.
Projects
We are constantly developing new HTML5 on-line teaching tools and educational games (128 applications since 2014) which we publish on our website.
In the past we have released the following Windows software with hundreds of educational activities: “Math Games 1”, “Math Games 2”, “Math Games 3”, “Little artists in action”, “On the road with safety”, “Play with Words” and “Kidmedia Printouts”.
Most of our work has been translated into English and other languages, depending on the collaborations we have been asked for over the years.
Our latest project is the website kidmedia.net, which is an attempt to make our games global (to the extent possible).
Awards
The team has been awarded by the Municipality of Veria which made the first release of our software “Little Artists in Action” and “On the road with safety” in 2007, by the Panhellenic Association of Special Educators in 2008, and by the Ministry of Education of Greece in March 2010 at the event “EXCELLENCE and INNOVATION in Education”.
