Horror of Sudan: warring sides show no interest in peace

The Foreign Secretary David Lammy wants to draw the eyes of the world towards the horrors of Sudan. He hosted a summit in London today which pledged 813 million pounds of aid.

Exactly two years ago, the war erupted in Sudan and the atrocities have continued to mount each day since. Mass Killings. Rape, famine and ethnic cleansing.

The war began after the one-time allies the Sudanese Armed Forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces started fighting in the streets of Khartoum.

The frontlines have changed in recent months.

The Sudanese Armed Forces recaptured the capital Khartoum and control the north and east of the country.

Whilst the Rapid Support Forces tighten their grip in Darfur in the west. Attacking El Fasher in recent days.
