The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Rabo Foundation, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) have launched the USD 55 million “India Covid response Fund for Agriculture Transition”.
About the program
The inclusive and sustainable funding program will provide loans that enable a transition towards a green and inclusive Agriculture in India building resilience of farmers and SMEs in dealing with the on-going pandemic and climate change impact. The financing facility will be used for the following end use:
· address the issue of food loss,
· digitization of smallholder farmers,
· low carbon farm practices using renewable energy,
· women focused farmer producer organizations,
Loans will be provided by three Indian lenders – Samunnati Financial Intermediation & Services, Maanaveeya Development & Finance, and Avanti Finance. Rabo Foundation will also provide financial support for technical assistance together with other Foundations.
