This week I continued spreading mulch in a few more spots around the yard, still battling the nutgrass. I also gave my neighbor’s overhanging mulberry branches a light trim on my side of the fence. Shortly after, she decided to have them trimmed way back and even covered the cost for the branches hanging over my side. I took care of the cleanup, and nature took notice of the change.
Less hanging fruit means less mess — and more light reaching the plants underneath. I’m hoping the extra sunlight will help my camellia hedges grow bigger and quicker over time.
Sometimes, in order to gain privacy, you must first lose it.
