Blue Belt Says his BJJ Doesn't Work On New White Belts

Today we've got a question from Neo.
It's about new white belts in BJJ that aren't exactly new.
He's a BJJ Blue Belt, in his 40s, who was rolling with another man in their 40s who was a white belt with a caveat.
He was doing situational rolls with this white belt and got smashed and pinned in Side Control. He couldn't get the White Belt off of him and couldn't really get anything going while trying to use technical jiujitsu.
He said this has happened before when a person with prior martial arts experience.
He asked if I have any advice to deal with situations like this, where he rolls with a new white belt with prior martial arts experience.
