My story is about my background through USC’s World Bachelor in Business Program. This program is a 3-degree program established jointly between USC, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Bocconi University. As 1 of the 45 students admitted into the inaugural class, I spend a year at each university, ultimately choosing one of the three institutions to spend my senior year. This exposure to cultures across the Americas, Asia, and Europe has helped shaped my perspective about ethics on a global scale. More specifically, ethics are deeply influenced by cultures, and I hope to share how students in my program have helped me gain a deeper understanding of my own ethics and the way I view others’.
I became passionate about the topic after realizing how relevant it is in the World Bachelor in Business program. Over the past four years, I’ve been able to learn more about how culture influences ethics and affects the different approaches students have towards making decisions. I hope to share more about my program and how it impacted my notion of ethics as an American. Unconventional academic programs like WBB are important in setting an example for universities that seek to build a more informed and dynamic student body.
