We did decide to go to Lassen. At first we didn't think we would. But it's been so long since we've been there, that we thought we should make a day trip of it. We did take our little dogs with us. That kind of limited us in the fact that we couldn't go on any of the trails. But we still had an awesome time and really enjoyed all that beauty around us.
Once again, if you should ever be in the area, I highly recommend walking the Bumpass Hell trail. No dogs are allowed. Shade is limited on this trail, so make sure to bring plenty of water and a hat. I would recommend you NOT wear sandals or flip flops. Wear comfortable shoes that are closed in. Be prepared to take your time. This trail is at a high elevation, so make sure you are comfortable hiking in those situations. The sulfur pits are well worth seeing. And most especially, have fun! 😊
