Just days after the Paris attacks, the atmosphere was tense and subdued in the historic Arenbergschouwburg. Still, Richard Hawley took the stage — despite battling a serious lung infection. The result: an intimate, fragile, and unforgettable performance.

Known for his work with Pulp and his solo hit Tonight the Streets Are Ours (featured in Banksy’s Exit Through the Gift Shop), Hawley brought his signature blend of melancholy and warmth to this beautiful 800-seat theatre, originally built in 1852. A rare and moving night — and to this day, the only time he has played in Antwerp.
