Haydn's mysterious inspiration to compose a rondo in the style of Hungarian Gypsy music during his time in London is traced to the success of "Gypsy themes" in his "London Symphonies." Drawing from Balkan folk music, he created a finale for the "Gypsy Trio" that surprised and delighted Londoners with its lively dance themes. The movement transitions from a lyrical Andante to a Poco Adagio, showcasing a blend of English landscape charm and Italian vocal style. The finale, with genuine Hungarian dance tunes, introduces a playful piano theme amid bursts of rustic wildness, creating a captivating musical journey.
