A moderate, 8-mile (round trip) climb to the top of Mt. Pinos, the highest point (8,847') in Ventura County. And, as a bonus, we also top out at Sawmill Mountain which happens to be the highest point in Kern County (8,822'). It’s worth the extra effort.
Directions:
Tap into your map app, “Mt. Pinos Nordic Base.” While this can a busy place on the weekend, the parking lot is so big, there shouldn’t be any problem finding a place for your car. The trailhead is directly to the left of the parking lot entrance as you enter it.
