In this remote village, temperatures can plunge to a staggering -71°C (-96°F). Life here is a constant battle against nature. Just stepping outside for a few minutes without protection can lead to frostbite or even death. Everything freezes — from smartphones to car engines. Even the air burns your lungs.
We traveled for days across Russia to reach this frozen land — flying 7 hours east from Moscow to Yakutsk, followed by an 18-hour, 900 km road trip through endless snow and ice. What we discovered was surreal: a near-silent village of 800 people, where the ground is permanently frozen and growing food is impossible.
To survive outdoors, locals wear up to 20 layers of traditional reindeer fur clothing, weighing nearly 14 kilograms. But even that can’t fully shield them from the cold. Phones shut down, breath instantly freezes, and every exposed inch of skin is at risk.
This video captures what life is really like in Oymyakon, where survival is an everyday challenge and winter is more powerful than imagination.
If you're ready to witness extreme reality — watch now.
