Emotion Recognition Activities for Autism| Identifying Basic Emotions – Level1 | QTrobot for ASD

Often children with autism have difficulties in recognizing and labelling emotions and they might be challenged by interpreting feelings. Teaching emotion related subjects to learners with autism can improve their mental health and wellbeing. Also helping learners to better understand emotions and be able to regulate their own emotions is necessary for helping them to able to communicate with people around them.
There are many structured activities to teach emotion recognition and emotion understanding to children with autism spectrum disorder, including using emotion visual cards, emotion visual tasks and emotion scenarios.
This video is a demonstration of QTrobot curriculum for emotional skills training, helping students with autism to recognize, interpret emotions and to regulate their feelings.
All the activities in the emotion skills curriculum are structured around fun and engaging games helping children to practice emotion related scenarios while playing with the social robot. Each session uses a variety of visuals and image-based activities to allow children with ASD, even the ones who are minimally verbal or non-verbal, to be able to interact with the robot and benefit from the emotion related lessons. The Curriculum is designed to teach emotion skills in a step-by-step manner and the complexity of activities will increase gradually, so children can practice emotions in an age and developmentally appropriate way.
