°bootcap® is easy to install at home—no specialized tools needed. Watch or read the instructions below, then get to the mountain to shred. Your toes will thank you.

Step 1: Gather items needed

(A) Left & right °bootcap® (B) spacing jig (C) marker or crayon (D) heat gun or hairdryer

Note: For best results make sure ski boots are warm and stored in room temp before installation.

Look for the "L" and "R” on adhesive backing to indicate right and left.

Step 2:

Thoroughly clean the toe of the boot using isopropyl or rubbing alcohol. Once clean, remove the paper backing of the foam spacing jig. Line up the notches on the jig with the center seam on the top of the boot and place the jig right above the toe lug. (This is the space needed to keep the °bootcap® clear of contact with the ski binding.)

Note: Keep the spacing jig level with the top of the toe lug from front to back to ensure the jig doesn't angle upward and get in the way of installing the °bootcap®.

Step 3:

Before removing the protective backing from the adhesive strips, place the °bootcap® where it makes the most contact with the ski boot and make sure there are no gaps around the edges. Use the marker or crayon to mark the back edges and corners of the °bootcap® so it can guide you when installing it in step 5.

Note: Ensure that the front/vertical section of the °bootcap® is touching the front and sides of the boot when making your guide marks.

Step 4:

Remove the spacing jig and set aside. (Note: The same spacing jig will be used for both boots.)

Carefully heat the toe of the boot with a heat gun or hairdryer so the plastic is warm to the touch.

Step 5:

To ensure the adhesive strips are properly bonded to the °bootcap®, apply pressure by running your fingers along the two strips to make sure there is a firm bond between the foam and adhesive. Now that it’s bonded, gently peel off the protective layers of the adhesive tape exposing the tacky side.

Pro Tip: To ensure the adhesive doesn't pull away from the foam when removing the backing (in the area where the pull tabs are located) pinch the °bootcap® and adhesive strip together before peeling, this will help the adhesive stick to the foam better.

Step 6:

Visually line up the back edges and corners of the °bootcap® with the marks you made on your boot in step 4. With thumbs on the top of the °bootcap® and index fingers on the back corners, slightly spread the °bootcap® apart and place the top center of the bootcap® to the center of the boot toe. Press firmly on the top "hood" section first then extend pressure to the outer edges of the °bootcap®. Press around the lower front and sides of the °bootcap® moving to the corners and around the back edge. Massage the entire °bootcap® with firm pressure for 1 full minute to ensure there are no gaps.

Note: It is important that the edges around the entire °bootcap® are tightly sealed.
