The weather was making me nervous, every wet day that passed a new plan was made. How long is it going to rain for? Two nights earlier a wild camp fail after an impulse decision to just go for it with a clear forecast for no more than a couple of hours, first glimmer of sunshine I was out the door, only to return just after dark soaked to the skin. So again a decent forecast for the afternoon and by mid morning the rain stopped and the sun came out. The problem with me is the huge expectations I put on myself, instead of just heading out and see what happens, or maybe just plan accordingly. But I'm always full of beans in the Lakes, loads of enthusiasm, but the weather Will always have the last say.
The plan was to get myself onto Highstreet from Haweswater and explore the full length back to Penrith so the weather was key to my plan, from what I remember of the one time I'd been up there before, it was pretty featureless but stunning all round views and I was looking forward to it.
Lots of wildlife in this one, Red squirrel, Red Deer well to be fair they may have been Roe, that was my first call but in the sunshine they sure looked like Red Deer, I'm not sure, you decide.
Haweswater and the Eastern fells, such a beautiful peaceful area of the Lakes.
