Welcome! This is a short and simple tutorial on how to create the Rope Stitch for a crochet square.
Written Instructions:
Chain in multiples of 3, then add 2 for the pattern and 1 for the turning chain.
Row 1: 1 double crochet (dc) in 4th chain from hook, chain 1, 1 dc in next chain, ** skip 1 chain, 1 dc in next chain, chain 1, 1 dc in next chain; repeat from ** to last chain, 1 dc in last chain.
Row 2: Chain 3 and turn; skip first 2 dc, ** [1dc, chain 1, 1dc] in chain 1 space, skip 2 dc; repeat from ** to last dc, skip last dc, 1 dc in turning chain.
Repeat row 2 until desired length.
Fasten off and weave in tails.
