Last week, I made my first test flights with my Flettner 265. The first problem I had was the difficulty to pre-rotate the blades before take-off. In the end I was able to make a take off but the model got a little bit too hot with the nose up, went over my head loosening the wires and the only thing I could do was to cut the engine, the model landed softly (I think it would be a good radio control model). At home, I made a small pulley to wind up a thin rope to allow me to pre-rotate on the take-off run and I also slightly modified the pitch travel of the head. Yesterday I tested the modifications and the model went airborne at the first attempt. Now I have to break the motor in, and I'm sure I'll be able to fly very slow as I do with my other U Control autogyros models.
