Precilia Correia loved Portugal, the country where her father was born. She went there frequently, ever since she was little. She rests there now In Lisbon, in the Cemitéro dos Prazeres – the Cemetery of Pleasures. On her immaculate white coffin, someone drew one of the city's iconic landmarks: the 25th of April Bridge, named to commemorate the day of the "Carnation Revolution," which ended the dictatorship 41 years ago. "It's a very powerful symbol to say: 'Let us be free,'" confides her mother, Patricia Correia. She adds, "There was no way she would be buried in a land where her life was taken."

Précilia died along with her partner, Manu, while they were together at the Bataclan on November 13. She was a music fan who indulged her passion by accumulating piles of CDs and scouring concert halls. "She loved rock ," explains her cousin, Nathalie Correia, to whom she was very close. During the tribute ceremony, held on November 23 in the Sainte-Geneviève church in Asnières (Hauts-de-Seine), several songs chosen by her mother were played: Imagine (John Lennon), Smells Like Teen Spirit (Nirvana, one of her favorite bands)... Bossa nova and fado tunes, too: "In reference to her dual nationality, French-Portuguese ," says Patricia.

Born in 1980 in Asnières, Précilia began a course in applied foreign languages ​​at the University of Nanterre and then trained at a photography school—another of her hobbies. In 2003, she was hired by Fnac in La Défense, where she held several positions before landing in the small appliances department.

Précilia was a real hair-raiser. "She had a very strong temperament ," says her mother. "She didn't let anyone walk all over her," confirms her colleague Pascale Morel, a CFDT union representative who enrolled her in her union. A staff representative, Précilia was straightforward, even with her superiors. "It could be a bit offensive, but she left no one indifferent," adds Pascale Morel, who appreciated "her spontaneity, her sense of repartee ." And her humor: "She made me laugh. She was radiant."

Her cousin Nathalie remembers that "she had several periods in her life ." The "pastry period ," during which she prepared dozens of cookies, macaroons, and soft cakes, which she gave to those around her. The "sewing period ," too: "She had a taste for handmade things," explains Nathalie. "She made small objects with linen, for example."

Three days after her funeral, a balloon release took place on the beach at Sesimbra, south of Lisbon. It was a way to pay her respects one last time in this fishing town where her parents loved to stroll when they were young.
