Ichchapuram constituency is now a hot topic in the united Srikakulam district. There are discussions that this seat has become an unattainable grape for the YSRCP. TDP candidate Bendalam Ashok won in the 2014, 2019, and 2024 elections. TDP has won 7 times in Ichchapuram constituency since the formation of TDP. Only in 2004 did the Congress party win by a very small margin. Jana Sena is also strong here. With the help of Jana Sena in the alliance, Ashok achieved a hat-trick victory in the 2024 elections.
