Kawayan Pavilion Restaurant is the latest addition in the rising number of food establishments in Booming Bacolod that aims to create a niche within the city’s food lovers and to expose Bacolod’s reputation to be more than just sugar and smiling faces.
Opened earlier this month, the restaurant came about after the owners acquired the lot and opted to open a small business that would cater to nearby call centers and employees of the People’s House.

Although they admitted that the new venture is well out of their comfort zone, the group still managed to push through with the idea. The name Kawayan came from their love for Filipino food, as well as bringing the cuisine of one of their inspirations to a much bigger audience.

Compared to other names, Kawayan is still a rookie among a closet of restaurants. But this would also mean that they are still open to add more options in their menu and to further expand and renovate the place.

Kawayan also comes with a certain family atmosphere where each member can enjoy good food and good company. The place is spacious and comfortable enough for customers to relax after a busy day at work.

And because they are still climbing the ladder, Kawayan’s menu is affordable yet delicious enough to gain a two thumbs up rating from diners.

For patrons who want to have a drink or two after a hearty meal, Kawayan’s mini-bar is also available.

Insofar as business is concerned, Kawayan’s steady pace came as a surprise to the management as they were welcomed by the residents despite being a neophyte eatery.

As for the future of Kawayan, the management envisions the place to be something unique that it will stand out from the rest of the competition.
