My early thoughts. I have had many calls. As information changes I will update & post. God Speed to the 67 souls. This has been a concern for years. PSA Airlines flight JIA5342, a Bombardier CRJ-701ER (N709PS), and a US Army Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter, callsign PAT25, collided in midair and crashed into the Potomac River near Washington-Ronald Reagan National Airport, DC (DCA).
All 64 occupants of the CRJ-701 and the three soldiers in the Army helicopter are feared dead according to officials.
The CRJ-701ER was on a night time final approach to runway 33 at DCA at the time.
The Black Hawk helicopter was flying at low altitude over the Potomac River from north to south.
