Agates and Fossils on the Mississippi

Today I finally made it back out to Chateau Island. The river has been running too high for months, and this is the first time the water has dropped low enough to explore the beach again. With the shoreline finally exposed, I spent the day rockhounding and came away with some awesome finds.

I was able to spot a few beautiful honey agates, pieces of petrified wood, some tumbled quartz, and even a handful of interesting fossils hiding among the rocks. It felt great to finally get back to this spot and see what treasures the river left behind after being inaccessible for so long.
