The missing mile on the stroudwater canal..March 2024 update and Forest Green Rovers training pitches… and a near miss 😱

So planning permission has finally been granted and work to dig and reroute the missing canal through and under the M5 motorway and 2 brand new locks will commence this year, this is a huge step forward and while very exciting it was essential to get this permission for the project to continue onto the next phase.

The Cotswold Canal Trust, a group of volunteers have done tremendous work in and around the area to restore the canal, iam not sure when the Google earth street view pictures were taken (I got the screenshots off the app) but there has been an awful lot of fantastic work clearing the area and even as this is the 1st time I’ve visited this year and already this year you can see the amount of work that’s gone on… the team of volunteers are amazing and it because of them the canal faces a bright future.


Next door the Forest Green Rovers training pitch is slowly taking shape, I know little about this project or even what it entails but it’s coming along

And although this is a waypoint mission where the Air 3 is on automatic at the end I though I was going to, at 1st hit the small tree and then worse the bridge, it go might close indeed and time to alter the route for next time
