Just days before we were due to hit the road for our Lap of Australia, we made a very last-minute decision… to buy, paint, and fully set up a rooftop tinny on our 200 Series LandCruiser. In this video, we take you behind the scenes as we pick up our new aluminium boat, spray it ourselves, build a custom rooftop boat mount, and test launch before heading off on 12 months of off-grid travel.

It wasn’t exactly part of the plan—but this boat setup is going to be a game-changer for exploring remote waterways, fishing, and touring Australia with our caravan and 4WD.
