The Panthers eliminated the Leafs by winning all three games in Toronto.
Florida advances to the Eastern Conference finals where they will play the Carolina Hurricanes.
The NHL has not set that schedule yet.
Aaron Ekblad and Carter Verhaeghe each scored for Florida in the first period with Nick Cousins winning it in overtime.
Sergei Bobrovsky made 50 saves as he has won six consecutive road games with three coming in overtime.
