I came to Atlanta to pick up Amtrak's Crescent to DC, but I had several hours to pass in the cultural center of the American Southeast. Today I'm riding MARTA for the first time, taking the Gold Line downtown for a Waffle House dinner. Afterwards I took a ride on Atlanta Streetcar, which is just how I expected it to be & likely not changing in the near future. MARTA is an interesting system in the vein of its sister networks in SF & DC. I'll almost certainly be back someday for a longer visit in ATL.
