Scope & Content: Reel 1 shows ground and aerial views of Archangel and Backoritza; city officials; U.S. troops debarking; unloading and carrying flour from the Gorfe-Castle; children delivering milk; market scenes; ceremonies at a Red Cross hospital; Bolshevik prisoners working on a road; 310th Engrs. operating a sawmill; Russians clearing farm land; and troops operating street cars. Reel 2, Armenian Gen. Torcum presents colors to Brit. Gen. Poole. Brit. Gen. Ironside reviews U.S. troops. 310th Engrs. construct a barracks. The Brit. hospital ship Kalyan docks. Gen. W.P. Richardson leaves the Canada and is greeted by Col. G.E. Stewart. Gens. Richardson and Ironside inspect civilian guards. Soldiers leave a hospital. Troops attend Thanksgiving (1918) services. Reel 3 shows a religious procession; the Canada breaking ice on the Divina River; troops skating and tobogganing; and Gen. Richardson and troops in reindeer sleighs. Gen. Ironside and Col. Stewart review 339th Inf. troops. Russians mount a 6-inch gun on a railroad car. U.S. troops drill, skirmish, and practice football. Russian artillery maneuvers on the frozen river. Reel 4, Engrs. strengthen blockhouses; telegraph lines are strung; Allied troops man trenches and patrol woods; and Russians drill with railroad guns. Gens. Ironside and Richardson decorate 339th Inf. troops. Reel 5, Polish troops are inspected. Troops, including the 310th Engrs., pass in review and embark for the U. S. Shows a funeral procession and Memorial Day (1919) parade in Archangel. Gens. Ironside and Richardson speak at services in an Allied cemetery. Gen. Richardson attends a picnic.
