Filmed at my yoga school in Toronto, Canada. Here my student Alison and I demonstrate the key elements in learning the forward bend (hasta padasana) sequence to the runner's stretch (ekapadasana). This is a step-by-step instruction on 'how' to do the practice. It is the first half of the sun salutations in the system of Classical Hatha Yoga and perfect for beginners.
In this practice sequence it is modified to return to the child's pose (balasana) for rest and relaxation. A traditional practice mirrors the series by returning to the runner's stretch, forward bend and standing. Beginner's will find this helpful and easy to learn! More experienced practitioners can brush up on their techniques.
