Batavia Madrigal Singers bagged its first Grand Champion Award of the most prestigious choral competition in the world, the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing this year, June 18 at Tours France.
Batavia Madrigal Singers is the 2nd Asian Country to have won this prestigious choir olympics, the other choir is the Philippine Madrigal Singers of the Philippines currently under the tutelage of Sir Mark Anthony Carpio, their choir conductor. The Philippine Madrigal Singers won the award two times in 1997 and 2007.
