orange chicken. i Made some Changes in the video on how i did prepare it this time. instead of chopped garlic And ginger i used garlic And ginger powder. and I also used bread-crumbs.
i used Sugar cane vinegar instead of rice wine vinegar. i added Also a bit of sugar. and for extra seasoning i added sesame seeds.
but in the recipe below is original.
Ingredients
skinless chicken breast cut into chunks
1 tbsp of corn starch
1 tbsp of flour
egg
salt and pepper to taste
frying oil
For the Sauce:
orange juice (1.5 cup)
soy sauce (0.5 cup) or to your own Taste
1 thumb size ginger, chopped or use powder
3 cloves of garlic, chopped Or use Powder.
2 tbsp of rice wine vinegar (optional) or sugar cane vinegar.
1 tsp of orange zest
1 tbsp of corn starch diluted in 1 tbsp of water
Instructions
Add the chicken to a bowl. In the same bowl, combine the egg, corn starch, flour, salt, and pepper. Using your hands or a wooden spoon, mix until the chicken is well coated.
Pour some oil into a wok and heat it.
Fry the chicken until it’s golden brown.
Clean your wok dd a bit of oil in. Put the ginger and garlic in and saute them, until they become fragrant.
Pour in the orange juice, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar or sugar cane Vinegar, orange zest. Stir and bring the mixture to a boil.
Add in the diluted corn starch and stir until the mixture thickens.
Put the chicken in and toss until it’s completely covered with the sauce.
Serve with rice and garnish with some chopped spring onions.
