Meteora, a distinctive geological formation in central Greece, draws tourists from all over the world with its breathtaking scenery and ancient monasteries. The Great Meteoron Monastery is the most well-known of the five monasteries in Meteora, yet each one has its own distinct personality and background. For instance, the Varlaam Monastery is renowned for its magnificent paintings and for being erected on a narrow ledge that necessitated a sophisticated pulley system to move building materials.
