Struggling to get accurate colors from your DJI D-Log M footage in DaVinci Resolve? You aren't alone. Resolve’s native Color Space Transform (CST) currently lacks a correct input for D-Log M, making accurate color management difficult.
In this video, I break down exactly how to fix this issue. We start with a precise workaround using DJI’s official LUTs combined with CST to move between color spaces. Then, I introduce a professional, mathematically accurate solution using third-party IDT-DCTLs from Salamifish (Tobias Wiedmer).
I’ll compare the official DJI transform against the Salamifish DCTL workflow to help you decide which method gives you the cleanest starting point for your color grade.
In this video:
Why the native CST fails with D-Log M.
The manual "Workaround" workflow (Rec.709 wrapper method).
The "Pro" workflow using Salamifish DCTLs.
Comparison regarding color accuracy and highlight retention.
