Hallucinogen - Thugs in Tye Dye (Remastered)

Thugs in Tye Dye was the B-side for the 1996 Space Pussy single, the last Hallucinogen single released on Dragonfly prior to the founding of Twisted Records in the autumn of that year.

In contrast to the high-energy track on the A side, Thugs In Tye Dye is a deep, dark night-time stormer, the title suggesting the rougher edge of hardcore Goa dancers in bright UV-reactive clothing. The growling sounds come from recordings made by Simon’s friend Danielle Buntman at a camel fair in Rajasthan, and these are complemented by a powerful kick, deeply-voiced distorted climbing motifs, and a catchy riff with a classic Hallucinogen interval that is simultaneously probing and uplifting.

A massive track that embodies both the deep intensity and energizing qualities of the best of 90s Goa psychedelic dance music.

The new release of Hallucinogen: The Singles Remastered features a fresh mastering of the track, letting the glorious musical creation and production of the original sound better than ever.
