Take the train from Exeter: it is a short walk to this important coastal nature reserve on the south coast of England. Trek along the beach to the mouth of the river Exe estuary. On the opposite bank lies the town of Exmouth (which can be reached by taking the ferry from Starcross - the station before Dawlish Warren). Return through the dunes to Dawlish Warren.
