Madhupur Forest, primarily known as Madhupur National Park (MNP) in Bangladesh, is a significant deciduous forest area featuring dominant Sal (Shorea robusta) trees, located about 125 km north of Dhaka in Tangail district, known for its unique red soil, hillocks (Chalas), and depressions (Baids). Established in 1982, it offers diverse flora like various medicinal plants and fauna including monkeys, deer, and numerous bird species, though it faces threats from deforestation and encroachment, despite efforts to preserve its rich biodiversity.

Fauna: Home to various species, including monkeys, deer, wild pigs, porcupines, forest cats, wild roosters, and many bird species, with a deer breeding center within.
Significance: An important ecological zone, once rich in large mammals, now crucial for conservation, with tribal communities also residing there.
Tourism: Offers rest houses, picnic spots, hiking trails, and scenic beauty, managed by the Forest Department.
Established as a National Park in 1982, though its history as a protected forest dates to 1962.
