After 425 km on foot (plus at least another 100 km in chaotic detours, snack hunts, and “just for the vlog” side quests 😅), I finally reach Santiago de Compostela — the sacred destination that pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago have been walking toward for more than 1,000 years.
I didn’t know what to expect when I arrived. Part of me never wanted the Camino Primitivo to end… and part of me desperately needed it to. This is easily the most emotional day of the entire pilgrimage.
Inside the cathedral lie the relics of Saint James (Santiago), one of the original Apostles of Jesus Christ. For centuries, pilgrims have come here seeking healing, protection, forgiveness, and — if you believe the legends — miracles. Whether or not the magic of St. James is real… after walking this far, something magical definitely is.
If you’re planning your own Camino de Santiago, dreaming about starting one day, or just following along on my solo journey, thank you for walking beside me.
This pilgrimage changed me more than I expected.
Buen Camino! 🌟
