Carving With Me! The Nativity (Full Tutorial on Mary)

This is the first part in a series for a complete nativity set. Starting with the Virgin Mary. This carving video is a full tutorial on how to carve her out of a 1.5inch square piece of basswood 4 inches long. We do this with a knife only, though i do show you ways to make things easier with a skew and a V-Tool on some trim. Each step of that can be done with the knife as shown in the video. Be sure to catch the painting video as well which will be a separate video so you can see how we finish off this carving to great effect!
