We got out and made the most of the early season backcountry, split-boarding First Creek Ridge on Berthoud Pass. The zone was stacked with large pillows early on and was borderline dangerous due to the size of the rocks, the thin coverage and quantity of holes that could eat you. As the weeks went on the area filled out quite nicely allowing attempts on the larger stacks of boulders coming down the mountain, and more continuous runs as we didn't have to be as cautious.
