意义
绿度母心咒指的是度母将引导有情众生从轮回、痛苦中解脱出来，借着皈依度母和修持度母法门来依止度母，诸如持咒或是祈请，度母会以“达咧”来让我们解脱痛苦。
尽管众生皆可让自己自轮回中获得解脱，并臻于涅盘，但要将自己从此一喜乐安详的境界中起身，开始为有情众生做事，却需要较长的时间。与得证后帮助他人的动机相比，只为自己获得证悟的目标过于局限。
因此，度母让我们不仅解脱轮回，也解脱喜乐的平安境界，带领我们达到证悟。

功德
度母的十字心咒，能救脱一切罪业、衰败、勾招三世间作为奴仆，成办各种事业。在各种续中宣说的五部佛母的这些陀罗尼咒是一切明咒王的心咒，持诵功德无量，能获得一切悉地。－－《净除业障百咒功德》

Meaning

The Green Tara mantra signifies that Tara will guide sentient beings to liberation from the cycle of samsara and suffering. Through taking refuge in Tara and practicing Tara’s teachings—such as reciting her mantra or praying—Tara will help liberate us from pain by the power of her "Tārē" mantra.

While all sentient beings have the potential to liberate themselves from samsara and attain nirvana, rising from that peaceful and joyous state to begin working for the benefit of sentient beings takes time. The goal of helping others after attaining enlightenment is much broader than merely seeking enlightenment for oneself.

Therefore, Tara not only helps us escape the cycle of samsara but also guides us beyond the peaceful state of joy, leading us to ultimate enlightenment.

Merits

The ten-syllable mantra of Tara can liberate one from all sins, failures, and enslavement to the three realms, allowing one to accomplish various virtuous activities. In the tantras, it is said that the mantras of the Five Buddha Mothers, including Tara’s dharani, are the essence of all mantras.
