Using this method it will take under an hour to cut all the 1x4 strips and gusset plates. The gambrel spans 10 feet. You must also use glue (construction adhesive) on these joints before you nail them down. I used the 12" double-bevel sliding miter saw from Harbor Freight (item 61969). Still on the original blade after 4 years of DIY tasks. Best tool purchase ever!
